Drive backup is failing nightly

Drive scope expired, storage quota, or folder permissions. Reconnect Drive; verify the AgencyLens folder exists in your Drive.

What's happening

AgencyLens uses the narrow drive.file Google scope — we can only see files our app creates, not your other Drive files. We create an AgencyLens folder in your Drive root on first connect and upload backup JSON files there. If backups stop working, the cause is almost always one of: the Drive OAuth token expired (and refresh didn't work), your Drive storage is at quota, or someone deleted the AgencyLens folder.

How to fix it

1. Open the AgencyLens Drive backup panel. If the status shows Disconnected or Token expired, click Reconnect Google Drive and complete the consent flow.
2. Click Back up now. If it works immediately after reconnect, the schedule will resume; backups happen automatically as part of your normal session activity (currently manual; nightly auto-trigger is a future release).
3. If the backup fails with a quota error, open one.google.com/storage and verify you have room. Backup JSON files are small (a few KB each) but old ones accumulate over time. Delete older backups from the AgencyLens folder if needed (use AgencyLens's UI; deleting from Drive directly is fine too).
4. If the AgencyLens folder doesn't exist in your Drive: it'll be re-created on the next successful backup. Don't worry about it.
5. If you're using a Google Workspace account with admin restrictions on third-party app access, ask your Workspace admin to allow AgencyLens (look for the app in Admin Console → Security → API controls → App access control).

When to email support

If reconnect succeeds but the next backup attempt fails with an error that isn't about quota or permissions, email [email protected] with the exact error text from the panel and the Google account email you connected with.
